Zahir Hernandez

Zahir's dream is to be a conservationist like his hero, Steve Irwin. He wants to do whatever he can to shed light on the ways that animals around the planet are in danger and need of protection. He also want to be a voice in that change and show people how we can still do work to save the planet. Currently, Zahir am the Vice-Chair of CALPIRG Students at UCSD and a statewide member at large. This position has introduced him to activism and made it so he can actually be a voice in that change while being a student. He's also employed by Birch Aquarium in the education department and a member of the Alburto Rivera lab, which focuses on mitigating destructive marine businesses in Mexico. In his free time, Zahir enjoys many nerdy activities, like watching movies, playing videogames, watching anime and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
